ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday said various major companies of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and some other countries had expressed keenness to invest billions of dollars in different sectors in Pakistan.
“The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has focused on reviving the economy,” he said while delivering a lecture in Oxford University in London.
Fawad also said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would bring British students on internship to Pakistan.
“Around 120 British companies are currently working in Pakistan in different sectors,” he said.

The information minister apprised the audience that a US company was already investing billions of rupees to discover oil resources in the country. While, UAE and Saudi Arabia were also making big investments, he added.
“The government would bring such improvements in the economic sector that Pakistanis would not need to go abroad,” he expressed resolve.
The minister maintained that measures were being taken for establishment of special economic zones and industrial development.
He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor was a great economic project.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the civil and military institutions were working in complete harmony in the country. He said transparency and rule of law were among the top priorities of the government, which was committed to root out corruption and money-laundering.
He said the government was working to increase participation of the overseas Pakistanis in economic and political affairs of the country.
The minister said media enjoyed complete freedom in Pakistan, and the government had also withdrawn censorship on the state media.
He, however, stressed for regulating the communication channels being used for spreading violence and hatred.
Fawad said Pakistan desired peace at internal and external level, and has also been fighting against terrorism for the same purpose.
He said Pakistan was ready to play its role for attaining peace and stability in Afghanistan.
On ties with the rival neighbouring countries, he said dialogue was the only way to move forward with India for resolution of the outstanding disputes, including Kashmir.
