Afghanistan, 19 killed in suicide bombing targeting Sikhs

JALALABAD: At least 19 people were killed and more than 20 were injured, including 10 Sikh residents in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

According to Afghan media, Sikhs were targeted in a suicide attack in Jalalabad, security forces surrounded the scene, while rescue agencies shifted the injured and dead to the hospital. According to unauthorized reports, the attack near the Governor House.

Provincial Governor Attaullah Khogyani confirmed the incident and the deaths and said that the attack was suicide, but he did not know more details about the attack.

It is reported that a group of Sikhs were going to meet Afghan President Ashraf Ghani who was on a visit to the province at that time.
